Call for user input and where we are heading

The Development Team thought it was time to give a clear roadmap of where we intend on heading with HLX: CE as we set our sights on version 1.7.0. In addition the development team is wanting to collect some information back from end users on how they are using HLX: CE. If you have a few minutes please stop by our forums and cast your vote in our forum poll.

HLStatsX: Community Edition Roadmap

Version 1.6 is now our "Maintenance Release" version -- we intend on fixing any major bugs quickly and releasing another 1.6 release as needed. However we will not be adding any new major features to the 1.6 branch of development. In 1.6.6 we addressed a significant security issue, as well as securing some additional spots on the web side where possible. Going forward we intend to lock down the web interface further, while allowing for additional end user interfacing.

That brings us to what is happening with 1.7. 1.7 is our new feature release version, which is shaping up to be a mighty release. You can follow the current issues/features assigned to 1.7 over on our 1.7 tracker page. While we haven't solidified the exact feature set for 1.7, a few things became quite clear that we wanted to see make it into 1.7:

  • Language Support

This includes in game language support as well as web frontend language support.

  • Enhanced game support for what we already support, as well as adding support for a few other games.
  • Cleaning up and enhancing code wherever possible.
  • Easier installation and upgrade routines.

We've already partially done this with our new web-based upgrader (1.6.1 and future), but we want to see this expanded into a web-based installation process so we can eliminate the multiple steps needed to prepare the site.

  • Much more...

In addition there is a fairly large addition that may make it in for 1.7. We don't want to spill the beans on that just yet, so be sure to keep checking back here and the forums for more information on 1.7!
